Telling stories has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember.

As a kid I filled notebooks with fictional stories of all kinds, and used a pinhole camera to document my own adventures. Later I became a print journalist and then an online content producer. Since 2013, I’ve been helping documentary filmmakers tell stories that matter, as well as producing videos for inspiring campaigns and causes in the Pacific Northwest.

I’ve edited three films that were shortlisted or nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short; several others won festival awards. My work on HUNGER WARD was honored with the 2021 SIMA Award for Best Editing among documentary shorts.

I enjoy collaborating closely with filmmakers, figuring out both the big picture — identifying characters, themes and story structure — and the minutia, such as focusing on finding the rhythm of a scene or the best in-and-out points of a single shot.

I'm a member of the Alliance of Documentary Editors and a supporter of the Documentary Accountability Working Group and its framework for creating ethically responsible films.

Whether you’re just starting out on a project, ready to jump into post-production, or finding yourself stuck midway through the edit, I’d love to hear from you.
